Who We Are

Independent Energy Consultants, Inc. (IEC) is an experienced independent energy service company specializing in helping local municipalities create and manage electric and natural gas Municipal Aggregation Programs. IEC works with Commercial and Industrial customers to source and manage natural gas and electric contracts and to develop and implement Energy Efficiency Programs.

IEC's mission is to continually provide the highest quality energy services to reduce clients’ utility costs while protecting customers from the risks inherent in the volatile energy markets.

Independence

IEC is an independently owned and operated broker and aggregator of electricity and natural gas. Because we are independent, we have access to all eligible energy companies. We are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, we customize services to align with your needs—term, service, and price.

Credibility

IEC has designed, implemented and administered hundreds of municipal aggregation programs. We direct the purchase of over $200 million annually for our natural gas and electric clients, earning the trust and respect of civic leaders and corporate executives nationwide.

Experience

IEC professionals design, implement, and administers hundreds of natural gas and/or electric programs saving tens of millions of dollars for residential, commercial and governmental customers. Brokering energy contracts for industrial clients, hospitals, property managers and retail chains throughout the United States, IEC is certified in energy conservation techniques and has saved its clients hundreds of thousands through its bill auditing services.

Certification

IEC has been certified to broker and aggregate natural gas and electric agreements by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, the Public Utilities Commission of Texas and is similarly licensed by the State Corporation Commission of Virginia, the Public Utilities Commission of Pennsylvania, and the Illinois Commerce Commission. A number of states have not deregulated their natural gas and/or electric markets and some do not require or offer a certification process. IEC believes in going the extra mile to provide assurance to our clients that we have passed the scrutiny of regulatory bodies. Clients have peace-of-mind knowing that IEC has the experience, knowledge, management and technical skills necessary to do your job right the first time.
